Happy Dress-tivus and Happy Monday! You can’t get us down, world! Vacation is so close, and it’s only a week until Christmas! We got this!
I’m calling this Elie Tahari dress “The Peacock Dress.” It’s a fun reminder to be your bad-ass self, and to hell with what anyone else thinks. Do you just like the peacock, and proudly show those feathers!
Hope you’re having a good weekend. Normally I would bitch about it being Sunday, but since I only have to get through Thursday afternoon, it doesn’t seem all that bad.
Today’s Dress-tivus pick is by the British label, Goat. Not gonna lie, just heard of them a few minutes ago, but they’ve been around since 2001. At first glance, the line seems to have a retro ’60s/’70s vibe. I can definitely see Zooey Deschanel being the muse behind this label.
Anyway, this dress reminded me of a wrapped gift underneath the tree, so I just had to pick it. No brainer.
Hello, and Happy Saturday! It is Day 16 and we’re more than half way through with Dress-tivus. What’s Dress-tivus, you might ask? Just your favorite 31 day celebration of designer dresses that also serves as inspiration for your holiday party attire.
For today’s pick, I went with a sweater dress. I had to include at least one. This dress from Kate Spade ticks a lot of my favorite boxes. Shimmer, check. Pleats, check. Fun neckline, check! It’s basically an understated disco ball dress, which is a compliment in my book.
We did it guys! We got through another week. All of my holiday parties are over, and only 6 more days until my vacation! Things are looking up!
Week Three of Dress-tivus is now upon us, and to kick it off, I give you this off-the-shoulder floral lace dress by Carmen Marc Valvo. This is another ’50’s inspired dress that makes my heart happy, and makes me wonder why can’t all dresses be like this and at a modest price point? GAP, Banana, J.Crew, I’m talking to you! Make it happen!
Guys, it’s Day 14 of Dress-tivus! Can you believe it? If you are loving Dress-tivus, the 31 day celebration of dresses and inspiration for your holiday party attire, as much as I am, go back and take a look at my picks from Week Two. If you can’t get enough, you can always go back and relive the magic of Week One.
I had to pick a velvet dress. It’s not the holidays without velvet. This Tibi velvet bias cut dress is so wonderfully ’90’s. This could very well be a photo of a fresh faced Gwyneth Paltrow from 1995. Am I right?
Heading into Week Three of Dress-tivus tomorrow! Thanks for indulging me!
Hump Day! Now that the holiday parties are in full swing, I hope you’re enjoying yourselves, or if you are like me and socially awkward, tolerating them to the best of your ability.
Today’s Dress-tivus pick is from Alice & Olivia, and features two of my favorite things: the color green and lace. I love this dress! If you are looking for more sparkle, you can always dress it up with some fun jewelry, shoes, and/or a clutch.
I saw this dress in the window at Kate Spade over the weekend, and knew it was destined to be a Dress-tivus pick. What’s not to love? It’s a mikado fit and flare dress embellished with pearls. I know, I know, it’s perfection! It also comes in pink, but I like the black better because it really accentuates the pearls.
In honor of my trip to the Downton Abbey Exhibition here in NYC, I give you a special Dress-tivus post celebrating the fashion of Downton Abbey. If you loved the series, it was great to revisit all of the characters and the sets we all know and love. It made me want to go home binge the entire series all over again, which I may do over the Christmas break. However, I suggest going during the week to avoid the crowds. It was tough trying to maneuver around and have enough time at each station.
Good morning! Hope you’re having a good Sunday, and making the most of the day before we have to go back to work tomorrow. Yet as I write this, I’m debating whether or not to leave my apartment to go to the movies or get groceries.
My Day 10 Dress-tivus pick is from Oscar De La Renta. This silk brocade dress is very Jackie Kennedy aka my fashion icon. Yes, this print is reminiscent of wallpaper or a tapestry, but awesome wallpaper and tapestry. LOVE! Why can’t all dresses be like this and affordable?
P.S. The Downton exhibit was nuts. Too many people there even with all the snow. If you’re in the NYC area, I recommend going during the week to avoid the craziness.
