Dress-tivus For the Rest of Us: Day 31

This is it. We have reached the final day of Dress-tivus, the 1st annual 31 day celebration of designer dresses to help inspire your holiday party ensembles. Thank you so much for putting up with me through all of this. Daily blogging is no joke. Much respect to those who do this every day.

For my final dress, I wanted to choose one that said, “Peace out, 2017. I’m over you. I’ve met someone else. Don’t call. Don’t text,” and I feel this Oscar De La Renta dress fits the bill. At first glance, I thought the material was leather, but it’s actually 100% silk. Is it just me, or does the bodice have a Wonder Woman-like quality to it? Overall, I like how it straddles the line between badass and classy just like. . .Wonder Woman!

Happy New Year! Be safe! 2018 is going to be amazing!

Dress-tivus For the Rest of Us: Day 26

Only 5 more days of Dress-tivus, the festival of designer dresses that provides inspiration for your holiday party attire. For these last five days, I’ll be focusing on New Year’s Eve dresses. My ensemble will most likely be a Care Bears Onesie or sweatpants, but for those of you plan to leave your house, I got you covered.

Today’s Dress-tivus pick is from St. John Collection. Naturally, I was drawn to the color of this dress. I love bold color, and it reminds me of a dress my Mom wore in the 80’s. Apparently this color was inspired by a painting by Cy Twombly. In my ignorance, I did not know who this was until 5 minutes ago. You learn something new every day. #themoreyouknow

Dress-tivus For the Rest of Us: Day 25

6 more days of Dress-tivus! Today’s pick is one I previously used in another post, but this Carolina Herrera cocktail dress is just so classic and beautiful, I had to use it twice. This dress will last a lifetime. #flawless

Dress-tivus For the Rest of Us: Day 24

The countdown is on! 7 more days of Dress-tivus! The most magical holiday of the month of December where we celebrate designer dresses, and use them as inspiration for our own holiday party attire!

Today’s Dress-tivus pick from Monique Lhuillier needs no introduction. Just look at it, and appreciate the beauty! You’re welcome.

Dress-tivus For the Rest of Us: Day 23

Hello! I hope you are all now safely on vacation for the next few days! Enjoy your time off and do something nice for yourself.

As always, Happy Dress-tivus to all! Today’s pick from Valentino, I hope is inspired by those old-fashioned holiday hard candies that could easily take out most of your teeth. I doubt it, but a girl can dream.

Dress-tivus For the Rest of Us: Day 22

Happy Friday! We have entered into our final full week of Dress-tivus. If you’re new to the blog, welcome. Dress-tivus has been a 31 day celebration of dresses that also serves as inspiration for your holiday party wardrobe. If you like what you see, you can always check out the first 3 weeks here.

Today’s pick is a modern and mini version of Holly Golightly’s cocktail dress from Breakfast at Tiffany’s. It’s even by the same designer that made her costumes for the film, Givenchy.  Love this dress. So classic!

Dress-tivus For the Rest of Us: Day 21

It’s here. . .Thursday! We made it! I have until 1pm, and then I’m a free woman for 6 days!

We have now completed three weeks of Dress-tivus. Honestly, I’m stunned that I’ve followed through with this. 10 more days to go for this dress celebration/inspiration for your holiday party ensembles. Today’s pick matches how I feel inside knowing that I am almost free from the chains that bind me aka work. This A.L.C Sequin Mini Dress would be a great pick for New Year’s Eve, you know if you have $995.00 to blow on a dress. If so, respect and jealous.

Dress-tivus For the Rest of Us: Day 20

Not gonna lie, this week has been tough. I know that I only have one and a half more days of work, but it’s not gonna be pretty. They really make you earn those days off.

Why get a Christmas Tree when you can wear one, right? Today’s Dress-tivus pick from Teri Jon by Rickie Freeman may be a good alternative. If I could afford this dress, I would skip the tree and make everyone open their presents around me. Sounds fun, right, or is that too much?

Dress-tivus For the Rest of Us: Day 19

Happy Dress-tivus once again! It’s your favorite 31 day celebration of designer dresses and inspiration for your holiday party attire!

Today’s pick from Oscar De La Renta is like a gift from Heaven! It’s so beautiful! My favorite dress so far. The sequin placement looks as if one just walked through a flurry of gold snow in a magic forest. I understand how corny that sounds, but I blame the beauty of this dress. It made me say that. PERFECTION!

It’s all downhill from here. This one can’t be topped, or can it? Stay tuned.

Dress-tivus For the Rest of Us: Day 18

Happy Dress-tivus and Happy Monday! You can’t get us down, world! Vacation is so close, and it’s only a week until Christmas! We got this!

I’m calling this Elie Tahari dress “The Peacock Dress.” It’s a fun reminder to be your bad-ass self, and to hell with what anyone else thinks. Do you just like the peacock, and proudly show those feathers!

Have a great day!
